TextSnap ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how TextSnap operates as a 100% offline, privacy-first mobile application for Android developed by jaimin229.

1. 100% Offline & Zero Data Collection

TextSnap operates entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, share, or sell any of your personal data, photos, extracted text, search queries, or device information to external servers or third parties.

• Zero Network Access: TextSnap declares no internet permission (android.permission.INTERNET) in its app package. It is physically impossible for the application to send any data over the internet.
• On-Device OCR Processing: All Optical Character Recognition (OCR) processing is performed locally on your device using Google ML Kit's bundled on-device text recognition engine.
• On-Device Storage: All database indexes, encrypted vault files, and search histories are stored exclusively in your device's private local storage.

2. Permissions Required & Purpose

TextSnap requests only the minimum permissions necessary to function:

• Read Photos / Media Images (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Used strictly to scan gallery photos for text indexing locally on your device.
• Biometric Authentication (USE_BIOMETRIC): Used strictly to allow you to unlock your local encrypted vault using fingerprint or face unlock.

3. Encrypted Vault Storage

When you move an image into TextSnap's Vault, the image file is encrypted locally using hardware-backed AES-256 GCM encryption provided by the Android Keystore system. The key remains on your device and is never accessible to us or any third party.

4. Children's Privacy

TextSnap does not collect any personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
